Summer Throwdown
Assemble your mixed team of four and compete under the Berkshire sun
We’re Back!
After a three year hiatus we’re BACK with our summer celebration of fitness in the Berkshire sun on Saturday 11th July 2026.
Our Summer Throwdown invites mixed teams of four athletes (2 males, 2 females) to enter into two categories, battling for podium places over four events that will test all aspects of fitness & team work.
Expect four challenging functional workouts, BBQ food on tap, great tunes and high calibre podium prizes. Spectators go free, with plenty of space on site for cheering and chilling in the sunshine (scroll on for more about our brand new venue).
Tickets are just £210 per team and you can secure your place now at Circle21, where we’ll be sharing event updates, plus workouts closer to the time and leader boards on the day.
The venue
For 2026, we’ve secured a brand new venue in the beautiful Newbury countryside, Thorngrove School. Thorngrove’s spacious grounds offer a huge amount of indoor and outdoor space for both competing and relaxing, to ensure we can beat any dodgy weather (not that there'll be any!) and ensure teams and spectators have everything they need.
Additional facilities include parking, changing rooms, showers, gazebos and a picnic and barbecue area. We’d recommend bringing some camping chairs for additional comfort but that should be all you need.
Our events will operate in both indoor and outdoor arenas and feature standard functional fitness equipment - barbells, dumbbells, ergs, odd objects, kettlebells, and walls (scroll on for movement standards).
Movement standards
RX: Barbell cycling - 30kg up to 60kg (one athlete), double unders, kipping handstand push ups (two athletes), handstand walks (two athletes), wall balls 9/6kg, dumbbell 22.5/15kg, kettlebell 24/16kg, D-ball 40kg
Intermediate: Barbell cycling - 20kg up to 50kg (one athlete), single unders, wall walks, push ups (two athletes), wall balls 6/3kg, dumbbell 15/10kg, kettlebell 20/12kg, D-ball 30kg
Only two athletes per team will be required to perform more complex gymnastics movements, and teams will be able to select one athlete to cycle a heavier barbell when required.

FAQs
When are the workouts released?
We’ll start to release the workouts, along with a full briefing pack of movement standards and workout flow, one month before the competition.
That depends on entries, but we’ll definitely be done and dusted by 4.00pm (including podiums)
How long will competition last?
Can we get food onsite?
Are the workouts outdoors?
Three of the workouts will be outdoors as long as there’s no heavy rain (in which case we’ll move the weightlifting event inside, alongside one other event, for safety).
Yes, there’ll be a barbecue from 12pm until the food runs out, along with a coffee and cake specialist and other vendors for snacks and merchandise.
When does early bird entry end?
Early bird entries close on Tuesday 31st March , after which tickets will cost £210 per team
Competitors must be aged 18 years or older but there are no other age limitations or categories
Are there any age categories?
What time do I need to arrive?
We’ll release heat times at least one week prior to the event but if you’d like to request a specific heat time (for example, if you’re travelling from further a-field and would like a later heat time), email us and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.
We’ll run a workout briefing on site at 8am, but we’ll release workout briefing videos in advance in case not all of your time can make the early start.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is ample free parking for up to 75 vehicles at the event venue.
What time is the workout briefing?
Is there indoor space if it rains?
Yes, there is some indoor space to shelter and spectate events if it rains, and we’ll provide some gazeebos, but we’d recommend bringing your own gazeebo and camping chairs to make the most of the space and beautiful countryside at the venue.
